Harrison Kemp

BMus (studying)

Harry is currently studying a bachelor of music at Southern Cross University with some of the industry’s most passionate teachers such as Tim Sladdin and Leigh Carriage. Working towards a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at SCU Lismore and Coomera over the last two years Harry culminated a strong and current foundation in music theory, blues and jazz guitar techniques, and songwriting. Harry also has 10 years of classical guitar training whilst growing up in his hometown of Airlie Beach.

His professional musicianship is also backed up by great interpersonal skills, allowing him to work with children and adults alike in an authentic, encouraging, and enthusiastic way. With experience not just in music but also as a caregiver, Harry has a well-rounded set of skills that makes him approachable and comfortable with anyone wanting to learn the craft of guitar and anyone wanting to be guided in music theory and songwriting.

Harry is a well-rounded musician. He has spent time with theory and is trained in the educational foundations of music, but has also had the time and opportunity to travel and find the joy of experiencing, learning, and teaching music. During his 10 years of performance and songwriting experience, some of his achievements were performing with crossfire entertainment throughout the Sunshine Coast region, while at the same time releasing one of his solo albums called “Bide a While”. He also generated another opportunity while in Germany and recorded and released another EP and performed in a Church, opening for inspirational speaker Anselm Grün.

All of these qualities help Harry create a fun and easy-going space where people are open to being vulnerable with their level of skill, to feel encouraged to keep moving with their musical journey while also being nurtured and guided.
